As digital tools play an increasingly crucial role in child protection work, governments are beginning to understand the importance of choosing appropriate digital tools and understanding how much digital training their child protection workforce has, especially in contexts where general education and literacy levels are lower. Together with Palladium's Data for Impact team, Samaj Studio worked with child protection teams in 5 countries to design a decision tool for assembling their digital infrastructure and a comprehensive guide to assessing the digital skills of their child protection workers as well as supporting workers with any digital education they may need. All work was conducted virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Both tools are freely available to the public. Here is the CMIS Assessment Toolkit and the Digital Skills Assessment Guide.
